Today (2/27/17) is D-Day for third reading and final passage in the Indiana State Senate on SB 309 Distributed Generation the bill that will eviscerate net metering and customer owned solar and small wind in Indiana.

The Indiana State Senate goes into session at 1:30 pm EST at the State House. Here is a link to the Senate Calendar:

There are 32 Senate Bills on Second Reading. Today is the deadline for Second Reading. Second Reading is where any Senator may offer an amendment to a bill.

There are 20 Senate Bills on Third Reading including SB 309. Third reading is final passage before the bill moves to the Indiana House for further consideration. Tomorrow (2/28/17) is the deadline for Third Reading. Therefore, if Sen. Brandt Hershman does not call down SB 309 today it will merely roll over onto the Senate Third Reading Calendar and SB 309 MUST BE CALLED DOWN on Tuesday, February 28th to remain viable for the 2017 session of the Indiana General Assembly.

Please note that the Senate Session Calendar now indicates that Friday, April 21st is the Anticipated Sine Die or Adjournment rather than the statutory deadline of Saturday, April 29th.
